If you find yourself reading this page with a sense of purpose, you must be experiencing something that you just can't explain.  Perhaps something just doesn't seem right in your home or place of business. Or perhaps you are convinced you are sharing your home with something above the normal. Whatever the case may be, we'd like you to understand that we are willing to help you. However, there are some things you should consider before you make this request of Credible Paranormal.

Is It Really Paranormal?

Before you get in touch with an investigative group, ask yourself...'is it really paranormal?'  There are many things that may seem paranormal, but are perfectly explainable.  Consider the following.

Bedroom experiences - Have any of your experiences taken place in the bedroom or during your normal sleeping hours?  The vast majority of paranormal experiences that people have in their homes take place in the bedroom.  They may report a presence in the room or being paralyzed and unable to breathe.  They may see strange things or hear strange sounds.  Many people even report hideous creatures sitting on their chests as they lie in bed and , in many cases, feel as if they are being raped by these creatures or apparitions.  These encounters can be immensely frightening and cause people to feel as if something evil is in their home.

The truth of the matter is, these are perfectly natural and common experiences that millions of people around the world endure every now and then.  These experiences are associated with a condition called R.E.M. Paralysis or Sleep Paralysis.  When we sleep, we cycle through various stages of sleep.  What this means is that our brainwaves change while we sleep.  One stage of sleep is known as R.E.M. Sleep, or Rapid Eye Movement Sleep, named after the rapid fluttering of the eyes that takes place during this stage of sleep.  R.E.M. sleep occurs when our brainwaves fall into the Alpha-wave frequency.  Just like the frequency of a radio station, our brains have their own frequencies through which brain activity occurs.  The alpha-wave stage is the frequency through which we dream.  Our minds are extremely active during this stage and we see images and hear sounds and carry out spectacular adventures or endure the most frightening things our minds can conjure.  With such activity taking place in our brains during this time, our brains deploy a defense mechanism that prevents us from hopping out of bed and acting out our dreams.  Essentially, we all become quadriplegics during this stage of sleep, paralyzed from the neck down so we do not hurt ourselves while we dream.  Occasionally, we can wake up too abruptly but our minds have remained in the alpha-wave stage of brain activity.  We can appear awake and seem completely lucid and can interact with those around us, but our brains are still conjuring up the dream world.  Often, we will still be paralyzed and, combined with the images of our imaginations, we can have an experience that seems absolutely, positively paranormal.

Other things occur outside of the alphawave range of brain activity, often taking place just as we lay down and shut our eyes.  Many people report hearing voices.  These can be very audible and seem very real.  They often take place as we are in the process of falling into the alphawave stage of sleep and can be distinguishable from a dream.  Dreams take place in the right hemisphere of the brain while these voices will appear very noticably in the left hemisphere of the brain, causing us to jolt out of our sleep and compelling us to believe that these voices were an external phenomenon rather than an internal one.

Similarly, we can hear other things besides voices.  One commonly reported experience is the very authentic sound of an explosion that will cause us to spring from our beds or easy chairs and take cover under the nearest table.  These are often referred to as "Head Explosions", because we literally believe we have heard an explosion.

More about alpha-waves.  Alpha-waves are a low frequency.  They are not exclusively a frequency of the brain.  They are very much a part of our world and are caused by a number of external sources.  They generally fall below the human range of hearing so we don't notice them, but our bodies can be affected by them.  Storms produce low frequencies and infra-sound (frequencies below our range of hearing).  The jet stream produces low frequencies.  Vehicles on a highway produce alpha-waves.  Studies have shown that a steady supply of external alpha-waves can entice the brain to alter its brainwaves to match the external frequency, causing the brains frequency to drop until it is in an alpha-wave state.  This can occur at any time and it is thought that this could cause our minds to conjure up dream-like images that we often interpret as being something paranormal.  Some acoustical experts believe that Stonehenge was designed in a manner to reflect the sounds of drum beats and the flashes of firelight to to lull the mind into an alpha-wave state, thereby opening up the witness to have spiritual experiences.  Trains are also a known source of Alpha-waves.  We at Credible Paranormal have noticed that many of the towns that are considered to be the most haunted are often train junctions where trains pass through frequently throughout the day and night.  Perhaps the alpha-waves produced by these trains are the catalyst for the seemingly paranormal experiences that make these towns famous as paranormal hot spots.

Before you call a paranormal investigator, try to think like a skeptic.  Ask yourself if it is more likely that there are logical explanations for illogical things, or are they more likely caused by boogie men.  Treat your experiences like a medical issue.  Get on the internet and Google the symptoms.  Stay away from the paranormal websites and focus on WebMd.com and other medical message boards.  You will often find there are tons of other people out there experiencing similar things, and you can often discover that these seemingly paranormal experiences are perfectly natural and endurable or even treatable.  If these sources do not answer your questions or your experiences seem to be above and beyond something natural, then perhaps a paranormal investigator can help you.

What Are Your Needs?

First of all, ask yourself what it is you hope to accomplish by having a paranormal investigative team come into your personal space.  Are you wanting some to believe you? Are you wanting validation?  Are you wanting someone to "get rid of"  the things that haunt you?  It is important to know that there are different kinds of "ghost hunters" out there that have different mindsets and motivations within their pursuits and it is important to pair your motivations up with the right type of investigators.

Credible Paranormal's interests are of documentation, validation, and research only. We do not "rid" a location of "spirits", nor do we claim to have this ability.  We are more suited for clients who genuinely feel they are experiencing something paranormal and would like us to come in to either attempt to document this phenomena, or figure out what could be causing it.  If you are looking for psychic intuition, photographs of orbs and mists, and the use of mystical tools, we are not the group for you.  Nor do we have an interest in propagating bogus claims by businesses that profit from the idea of their establishment being haunted. But if you are an honest person, with honest concerns, then Credible Paranormal is the absolute best option that you will find

What We Expect From You

We are all familiar with the current trend in televised investigations where investigators go into a supposedly haunted location, run around in the dark for a night, present their clients with a bit of evidence and leave, never to return.  The problem with this paradigm is that it gives an unrealistic expectation of paranormal investigative teams.  Most teams are happy with that sort of arrangement because, essentially, they are using the client as a one night stand, so to speak, so they can have their excitement for a night, then they add the client as another notch on their belt.  Credible Paranormal does not operate in this manner.  Once Credible Paranormal takes your case, we will be in it with you for the long-haul.  We cannot always give you the answers after a single investigation.  It may take weeks, months, or years, but we will be there to help you.

We do not charge for our services, but there are things we expect from our clients because their case will also affect the lives of the investigators who are dedicating part of themselves and their time to povide support to the client in their time of need. Therefore....

Access- We must have reasonable access to the location in question so that we can conduct our investigation in a fluid manner.  We may need to return regularly to try new tactics and approaches until we can best find the answers you need.  We realize, however, that you have your lives to live as well and cannot accommodate daily or weekly investigations, so we will work with you on setting up scheduled investigations that are equally convenient for both parties.

Implementation - Throughout the investigation process, Credible Paranormal may make suggestions to you that we feel may alleviate the effects of your problem or bring it to an end.  These suggestions could range from a simple solution of changing an air filter, or as extreme as seeking medical help.  If we feel that our suggestions are being ignored, we may choose to bring the investigation to an immediate end.

Utility Usage - We will expect the free usage of your electricity as well as access to a water faucet and restroom facilities during the investigation process.

Exclusiveness - So long as Credible Paranormal is working your case, we ask that you do not bring in other groups so that we may avoid a tug-of-war situtaion between investigative teams.
