The Manske Library is a public library in the city of Farmer's Branch, Texas.  There have been claims of paranormal activity associated with it that range from books being thrown off of shelves, elevators seemingly working on their own after hours, and an apparition of a man seen walking through cement walls.  We obtained library and city manager approval to investigate the library on February 22nd, 2008.

Location: Manske Public Library- Farmer's Branch, Texas
Date of Investigation: 2/22/08
Time: 6:00 pm to 10:00 p.m.
Investigators Present
        Ardis
        Jimmy
        Doyle
        Dustin

Historical records show that a construction worker was killed during the renovation of the library when a cement wall fell on him back in 1984. This is the basement section of the library where the death occurred and and where all of the claims of activity supposedly take place.

Jimmy and Ardis were the first to arrive and they immediately set up the Canon GL-2 in the childrens area on the first floor pointing down the aisle that feeds the childrens section as well as the general fiction sections and the staircase entrance.  This shot would cover the most ground and might possibly catch anything transitioning between the three areas.

Until Dustin and Doyle would arrive, Jimmy and Ardis decided to split up and cover as much ground as possible.  Jimmy took the upstairs and Ardis explored the basement section where the activity was said to take place.

Using his digital voice recorder, Ardis requested that anyone present make a noise to notify him of their presence.  Immediately to his left, he heard a tapping come from somewhere on this desk.  The noise did not repeat itself, and Ardis determined that it should be dismissed since it could have simply been the expansion of the computer monitor housing as it cooled down for the night.

Ardis had moved the camera to the opposite end of the main aisle to try and cover more area of the library.  He did not notice anything peculiar at the time, but ten minutes later, he decided he needed to reposition the camera once again, at which time, he reported a very noticeable isolated cold spot by this desk.  He went to find Jimmy and brought him back to experience it as well, but it seemed to be back to room temperature at that point.  They walked the immediate area looking for a pocket of cold air, but one could not be found.  This took place in February and only the heating was used at this time.

After Dustin and Doyle arrived, the team split up into groups of two.  Dustin and Doyle took the basement where they set up an infra red camera, and Ardis and Jimmy explored the Children's area.  As they walked down a particular aisle, Ardis felt his hand pass into a spot of cold air.  Instantly, a static transmission started coming in over his walkie-talkie.  If he moved a few inches in any direction, the transmission would cease.  Later on, while in the basement, the pair discovered the same occurrence happening directly under the exact spot where the first incident took place one floor up, but this time it happened over Jimmy's radio rather than Ardis's.  Since some paranormal researchers claim that white noise assists potential ghosts in communication, we recorded some of this white noise.  We got nothing from it.  Eventually, all four investigators would pass through these spots with radios and all got the same static transmissions on this six in square foot of space on two different floors.

Shortly after we started the investigation, the elevator call light would light up and ring to notify us that the "up" button had been pushed, which was one of the claims of activity.  Throughout the night, this continued.  We positioned the Canon to watch the elevator door and recorded this happening frequently. We started timing the intervals and found them to occur every ten minutes, telling us that it was an intentional cycle as part of its design that would call the elevator to the ground floor after periods of un-use.

As the night wore on,  everyone did their best to elicit some sort of paranormal phenomena, but had absolutely no luck.  Jimmy thought he heard a voice at one point, but we were unable to verify that with audio samples so we had to discount it.  Credible Paranormal does not consider cold spots to be evidence of the paranormal in and of themselves, so we had to chalk those up to personal experiences as well.  We also do not accept Orbs as being paranormal in any way, shape, or form, in which case, if we had been any other group, we could have propagated the myth of this haunting by producing a hundred orbs as evidence of this place being haunted.  Only cold, hard, measurable evidence will be accepted in this organization.

After reviewing all of our audio, video, and stills, we came up with absolutely no evidence that would suggest the library to be haunted.  We gave an official report to the city of Farmer's Branch explaining the elevator issue, and explained to them how someone walking down an aisle could quickly vanish down another ailse. People could easily think a man vanished through a wall, when, in all actuality, he could have just turned down another aisle near the walls in the literal blink of an eye. And as far as books being thrown off of shelves... it's a library with a million books, and books fall off shelves. Plain and simple.
